A golden button for a blind participant of “Mam Talent”. Cowell, impressed, ran to her on stage

Awarding the golden button to a “Mam Talent” participant is not a frequent situation. However, in the last episode of the American edition, 17-year-old Putri Ariani was honored with it, whose voice was hailed as one of the best in the history of the program! During the performance, she was joined by Simon Cowell himself. The young vocalist and pianist is blind, but as she herself indicates, this is not an obstacle for her on the way to fulfilling her dreams.

In the United States, the 18th edition of “Got Talent” is currently underway. A very rare thing happened in the last episode. 17-year-old Putri Ariani from Indonesia, who is blind, entered the stage of the program. In 2014, she became the winner of the Indonesian edition of the program, and now she has applied to “America’s Got Talent” to show the whole world that despite her disability, she can fulfill herself as a singer and pianist. “People often look at me through the prism of my disability, and not as a musician. However, on stage I feel like a great star” – she said.

Such a performance in “Mam Talent” has not been for a long time!

In front of the American audience, she decided to sing a song of her own authorship entitled “Loneliness”, during which everyone hearing the performance got shivers from the impression. The 17-year-old’s performance was so amazing that the crowd started chanting before the girl had finished playing. At the end of the performance, Simon Cowell decided to join her on stage, which surprised the other judges. He decided to ask her for a favor. He wanted her to perform one more song, specifically “Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word” by Elton John, which was also appreciated by the audience of the program with thunderous applause. This is how the talent scout explained his decision to another juror, Sofia Vergara: “I like her voice so much that I asked for another number.”

The judges of the program could not praise the 17-year-old Ariani. “A lot of people don’t believe in angels, but I think one just came on our scene,” said Howie Mandel. “You have an amazing, distinctive voice. You have a sparkle about you,” Cowell commented. In addition, all the judges were shocked when it turned out that the first song was an original composition of the artist. Then the most famous talent scout in the world decided to put everything on one card:

You’re so young, you have a wonderful voice, you write songs. You have a certain glow around you. I don’t know if it’ll make a difference, but… I think you’re one of the best singers we’ve ever had on the show,” Simon Cowell said as he pushed the gold button.

A 17-year-old girl from Indonesia has been working from an early age. She has already achieved some success

Thanks to this distinction, Putri Ariani automatically got to the semi-finals of the American edition of the show. The recording with a participant from Indonesia immediately became a hit of the network, which is proof that the whole world has already begun to be interested in her. However, the 17-year-old has already achieved considerable success. In addition to winning the Indonesian edition of the show, she also released an album, and her most popular song “Tak Mampu Lupa” has been played over 11 million times on Spotify.

Before entering the stage of “America’s Got Talent”, she admitted that although she is blind, she would like it not to define her as an artist. “My biggest problem is that people see me as a blind person, not as a musician. But when I sing, I feel like a superstar,” she admitted. She also said that she has been singing from an early age, and one of her biggest dreams is to win a Grammy and become as famous as Whitney Houston. She also believes that she will win America’s Got Talent, which will be a huge success for her.
