Country music star Dolly Parton has canceled an appearance at her Dollywood theme park in Tennessee after experiencing dizziness and dehydration.

Dolly Parton Cancels Tennessee Event Due to Health Issues

Country music icon Dolly Parton has canceled her scheduled appearance at an event in Tennessee due to health issues, according to trade publication Variety.

The singer and actress had been scheduled to attend the grand opening of NightFlight Expedition at Dollywood, the theme park she owns in Tennessee. The appearance was set to be a major public event for the park.

Parton addressed attendees and fans through a recorded video message, offering an apology for her absence. Speaking from Nashville, she said she was right there in spirit and expressed regret for not being able to attend in person as she had originally planned.

The entertainer explained that she had felt dizzy and dehydrated prior to the event, which prompted her to consult her physician. She reported that her doctor in Nashville advised her against traveling for the park opening.

Parton said her doctor had effectively clipped her wings by instructing her that she was not going to travel during the week. She noted that when a doctor tells a patient not to travel, the only choice is to follow that advice. Closing her video message, she encouraged guests to have fun at the park and said she would see them later.

Residency Delay and Health Concerns

The cancellation of her Tennessee appearance follows earlier adjustments to her performing schedule that had already drawn concern from fans. In May, Parton postponed her scheduled show residency in Las Vegas, which had initially been set to begin in December 2025.

The postponement of the Las Vegas residency had sparked widespread worry among her followers regarding her health. A Las Vegas residency is a major commitment for musical performers, involving a series of regular concerts staged at a single venue over an extended period.

Parton turned 80 on January 19, having spent more than six decades in the public eye. Considered one of the most significant country music singers in history, she has achieved international fame as a performer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist, and businesswoman.

Career Accomplishments and Dollywood Enterprise

Throughout her career, Parton has built an extensive entertainment enterprise alongside her musical achievements. She is recognized as a Guinness World Records icon, holding 11 historic world records, including milestones for her enduring presence on the country music charts.

Beyond her recording career, Parton is widely known for her philanthropic work, including her global child literacy program, the Imagination Library, as well as her business investments in her home state of Tennessee.

Dollywood, located in the Great Smoky Mountains region, serves as a cornerstone of Parton's business portfolio. Co owned by the singer, the park opened under her name in 1986 and has grown into one of the most popular ticketed tourist attractions in Tennessee, featuring roller coasters, live musical shows, and themed rides such as the new NightFlight Expedition.
