Daniela Butron, the daughter of former Alianza Lima goalkeeper Leao Butron, has revealed that she is now living with Universitario de Deportes midfielder Jairo Concha.
Speaking during an interview on television show Teledeportes, the Peruvian influencer shared details of their home life and described how the international footballer has built a close relationship with her family.
Universitario de Deportes and Alianza Lima are the two most prominent football clubs in Peru, based in the capital city of Lima. Their head-to-head matches represent the fiercest sports rivalry in the country. Concha currently plays as a central midfielder for Universitario, having previously played for Alianza Lima, while Leao Butron is widely regarded as a club icon at Alianza Lima after serving as their longtime starting goalkeeper.
Daily life and family relationship
During the broadcast, Daniela showed a shell-shaped necklace gifted to her by Concha, which features his jersey number 17 engraved on the back, remarking that the player is very detail-oriented. She explained that Concha particularly enjoys home-cooked meals, citing traditional Peruvian chicken dish aji de gallina as one of his favorites alongside arroz con pollo. She added that her mother regularly asks the player what he wants to eat and enjoys spoiling him when he stays at home.
Daniela also revealed how comfortably Concha interacts with her father despite the traditional football rivalry between them. Laughing during the interview, she explained that Concha addresses her father as suegrito, an affectionate Spanish term for father-in-law, joking that her father would kill her for sharing the detail.
Predictions and rivalries between clubs
She recalled an incident ahead of a recent derby match between Alianza Lima and Universitario de Deportes, when Leao Butron publicly predicted a 3-2 victory for Alianza Lima with two goals scored by Concha. Daniela clarified during the interview that the prediction was entirely her father's own initiative and was not the result of an agreed bet between the two men.
Leao Butron enjoyed a distinguished career as a goalkeeper, winning multiple Peruvian league championships with Alianza Lima and earning caps for the Peru national team before his retirement. Concha, a skilled midfielder who has also represented the Peru national team, made a high-profile move across Lima to join Universitario, where he continues to feature in domestic competition.
Hopes for a return to Alianza Lima
Despite Concha currently defending the cream-colored jersey of Universitario, Daniela made no secret of her personal desire to see her partner return to Alianza Lima in the future. When asked directly about the possibility of him rejoining the blue-and-white club, she expressed her strong wish to see him back at the team based in the La Victoria district of Lima.
She said it would be wonderful for him to play for Alianza Lima again and envisioned attending matches wearing a blue-and-white jersey with Concha printed across the back. Her comments highlight the unique personal connection bridging Peru's biggest footballing divide, as Concha continues his career with Universitario.
