Canadian singer Celine Dion made her first public appearance in two years when she arrived in Paris on Friday, August 28, ahead of her return to live performance.
A crowd of fans gathered outside the Hotel Le Royal Monceau in the French capital, where the 58-year-old pop star is staying, to welcome her upon her arrival.
Dion appeared emotional as she waved and blew kisses to the assembled crowd. She wore a camel trench coat, high-heeled boots, and dark sunglasses, smiling broadly as she posed for photographs with fans outside the hotel.
Video footage of her arrival was captured by photo agency Backgrid and shared online by entertainment publication Page Six, while official photographs of the crowd greeting were provided by Reuters.
Concert schedule and Paris performances
The appearance comes as Dion prepares to return to the stage three years after cancelling her world tour because of a prolonged battle with Stiff-Person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and severe spasms.
She has organized a series of concerts running from September 2026 through 2027. Her comeback will begin with ten scheduled concerts taking place in Paris during September and October 2026.
Comments on returning to fans
Speaking to Harper's Bazaar in July 2026 about her return, Dion said she had deeply missed connecting with her fans during her absence. She explained that it had been a long time since she performed and said she wanted to offer her audience something special to show how much she had missed them.
Her planned return to the stage follows earlier reports of new music, including a planned single release scheduled for July 2026. The Canadian vocalist, known internationally for record-breaking hits such as My Heart Will Go On, has remained largely out of the public eye while managing her health condition.
