Peruvian tiktoker Carla Campos Salazar has closed the comments section on her official Instagram account following the release of television footage showing her dancing at a nightclub with another man.
The 24-year-old fashion designer, who is engaged to digital content creator and streamer Victor Caballero, known publicly as Curwen, took the step on her page of over 100,000 followers to prevent public criticism.
Before the footage was broadcast on the entertainment show Magaly TV: La firme, any social media user could leave public comments on the photos and video clips shared by Campos Salazar.
Magaly TV: La firme is a prominent Peruvian celebrity news program hosted by television presenter Magaly Medina. The show is known for airing candid, undercover videos of public figures, commonly referred to in Peruvian media as ampay reports.
Social media platforms such as Instagram permit users to turn off public comments on their profiles, a setting frequently utilized by public figures to manage high volumes of incoming messages during public controversies.
Campos Salazar frequently used her account to model clothing garments she designed, regularly receiving messages from followers highlighting her talent and appearance.
The couple became engaged last year after Caballero proposed to her.
Nightclub footage in Miraflores
The controversy began after camera crews from Magaly TV: La firme recorded Campos Salazar dancing with a man identified as Alonso Grimaldo during the early morning hours of Saturday at a nightclub in Miraflores.
Miraflores is an affluent coastal district of Lima, Peru, widely recognized for its vibrant nightlife, commercial areas and entertainment venues.
The broadcast of the video quickly generated widespread discussion across social media platforms, turning the couple into a trending topic in Peru.
Response from Victor Caballero
Speaking to a reporter from the television program, Caballero rejected claims of infidelity regarding the nightclub meeting.
Caballero stated that the recorded interaction did not show a kiss on the mouth, explaining that Campos Salazar was merely greeting the man.
He added that he was fully aware his partner planned to attend the nightclub and explained that he chose not to accompany her because he stayed at home watching the movie X-Men instead.
Personality differences and political podcast
In a past interview, Caballero described Campos Salazar as a shy person who is deeply affected by opinions and comments left by internet users on social media.
For that reason, Campos Salazar prefers to keep a low public profile, unlike Caballero, who frequently generates online controversy with his sharp commentary.
Following the broadcast, Caballero also restricted comments on Instagram, limiting the restriction specifically to a pinned photograph featuring himself alongside Campos Salazar.
Caballero built his public audience as a streamer and host of Brutalidad politica, a digital talk show focused on political commentary and public debate in Peru.
Caballero confirmed that he will address the broadcast footage further during an afternoon broadcast of his political podcast, Brutalidad politica, where he serves as host.
