Actress Aubrey Plaza has welcomed her first child at the age of 42.

The star was photographed holding her newborn baby in New York. The images were published on Sunday by the celebrity news website TMZ.
Plaza was seen with the infant after attending the final performance of the classic Arthur Miller play "Death of a Salesman". The production stars her boyfriend and the father of her child, actor Christopher Abbott.
Sources told the news outlet that Plaza gave birth to a baby girl during the last week of July.
The American actress, who has Puerto Rican roots, rose to fame on the television sitcom "Parks and Recreation". She later gained further acclaim for her starring role in the second season of the hit television series "The White Lotus".
Emotional year
The couple's pregnancy was initially confirmed in April through People magazine.
A source close to the publication said at the time that Plaza and Abbott felt very blessed by the news. The source described the arrival of a baby as a beautiful surprise following an emotional year.
The remark referenced the death of Plaza's husband, the writer and film director Jeff Baena. He took his own life at the age of 47 in January 2025.
Baena was known for directing independent comedy films, frequently casting Plaza in leading roles in his projects.
Plaza had been in a relationship with Baena since 2011, and the couple married in 2021. However, a coroner's report stated that they had separated several months before his death by suicide.
Creative collaborations
Plaza and Abbott have collaborated on multiple acting projects during their careers.
The pair first worked together on the independent thriller film "Black Bear" in 2020. They later co-starred in a theatrical production of the John Patrick Shanley play "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" between 2023 and 2024.
Abbott is an American film and television actor who gained early recognition for his role in the drama series "Girls".
