Anna Faris Challenges Son Jack Pratt on Religious Beliefs

Actress Anna Faris has revealed how she challenges the religious beliefs of Jack, her 14-year-old son with ex-husband Chris Pratt, during deep conversations about faith.

Speaking on the Dear Chelsea podcast hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler on Aug. 20, the 49-year-old Scary Movie star explained that her teenage son has become more devout than she is, despite her own secular upbringing.

"I didn't grow up with religion," Faris said, revealing that Jack recently asked her to accept Jesus Christ. She told him she would do anything for him, including accepting his faith, but noted that "it's gonna take a whole lot of long conversations."

Faris said she knew she could have those open discussions with the teenager because he is "as solid as a tugboat, emotionally." She added that "he just doesn't get easily jarred" and "handles situations really well."

During their talks, Faris frequently questions his views on life. "He's impressive, actually. He's impressive 'cause I try to challenge him," she explained.

She recalled asking him, "Do you think it's a luxury that you get to be pro-life? Do you think that's kind of a luxury?" to which he answered, "Maybe." When she asked his thoughts on "this mega pastor that's kind of a grifter," Jack replied, "Oh, mega pastors are the worst."

"I'm appreciative that he's examining religion the way he is in terms of recognizing hypocrisy, starting to recognize hypocrisy," Faris added, expressing gratitude that they can have such long conversations together.

Attending the Scary Movie premiere in June, Faris marveled to Entertainment Tonight that her son "knows everything." She added: "He knows way more than I thought he did, so I actually feel comfortable bringing him here."
