Peruvian singer Yahaira Plasencia has expressed solidarity with fellow salsa artist Daniela Darcourt after Darcourt was pulled from the stage before finishing her set at a festival in Barcelona.
Plasencia said she was familiar with the event’s organizer, describing it as the same production company that brought her to Spain in 2025, where she shared the stage with Josimar. She called the company very serious and very good, but noted that it is extremely strict about scheduling.
Because of that strictness, Plasencia said she now makes a specific demand before agreeing to perform at such events. She said she always asks to go on first so she can perform her show without pressure, adding that some artists prefer to close the night.
Darcourt was removed from the stage on July 28 while still mid-performance at the Peru Salsa All Stars II festival, held at the Olympic Arena in Badalona, Barcelona. Videos of the moment circulated widely online.
Darcourt pushed back against criticism that she had arrived late, writing on social media that she had always been on time and that the organizers were the ones who changed the schedule for her and the other performers, cutting their shows without warning. She called it a total lack of respect.
Plasencia said the incident was regrettable, but noted that Darcourt received strong support from the audience who attended the festival.
