Volkswagen Anhui, the automaker's electric vehicle joint venture in China, has begun selling the ID. Unyx 08 Hunter Edition, a sportier version of its five-meter electric crossover. The lineup starts at 220,000 yuan (2.85 million rubles) for the base rear-wheel-drive version and rises to 250,000 yuan (3.25 million rubles) for the top all-wheel-drive trim.
The SUV is built on an 800-volt electrical architecture and uses a CATL battery with a capacity of 95.04 kWh, giving it a range of up to 730 km.
The Hunter Edition is set apart from the standard ID. Unyx 08 by more aggressive styling, including darkened alloy wheels, orange four-piston Brembo brakes and Pirelli performance tires. The black-and-orange theme carries through to the interior.
Dimensions and cabin technology
The crossover measures 5,000 x 1,954 x 1,688 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. Inside, it features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and two combined 14.96-inch displays with 2.4K resolution. The infotainment system, VW OS 2.2, runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip. Second-row passengers get folding tables, and the vehicle also comes with a built-in 6.7-liter refrigerator.
Powertrain and range figures
The ID. Unyx 08 Hunter Edition is offered with either rear-wheel drive as standard or all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel-drive version has a single electric motor producing 313 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds with a range of up to 730 km on the CLTC cycle.
The all-wheel-drive version uses two electric motors with a combined output of 503 horsepower and 695 Nm of maximum torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and has a range of 700 km on the CLTC cycle.
Both versions use the same CATL lithium iron phosphate traction battery rated at 95.04 kWh, and both come with dual-chamber Weibac air suspension and adaptive ZF dampers.
Price cuts across the lineup
Alongside the launch of the Hunter Edition, Volkswagen also lowered prices on the other ID. Unyx 08 versions, the Pure, Ultra Plus and Max Plus. Those trims are now priced between 190,000 and 250,000 yuan, or roughly 2.5 to 3.25 million rubles.
