Russia has released former Marine Gilman after four years of imprisonment, granting a humanitarian pardon without a prisoner swap following a medical crisis. The Kremlin yielded to pressure to issue the release.
Gilman's family stated that he was ill and had no intention of kicking the police officer. Gilman previously attended a court hearing in Voronezh, Russia, on April 6, 2026.
