Russia accuses Japan of “giving up constructive relations” and expels eight Japanese diplomats

Russia will expel eight Japanese diplomats because of a similar move by tokyothe Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday.

“Guiding by the principle of reciprocity, the Russian side demanded that eight Japanese diplomats leave our country by May 10,” the official note says.

The statement adds that all responsibility for this development of events falls on the Japanese government, which “he chose to renounce constructive and friendly relations” with Russia.

The government of Japan announced on April 8 that it will expel eight Russian diplomats from its territory in retaliation for the “war crimes” allegedly committed by Russian troops against Ukrainian civilians.
