This is the Sarmat missile: the Russian nuclear weapon capable of overcoming all defense systems

Russia has made a test launch with its Sarmat Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, better known as satan 2, the most powerful in the world. A weapon that could devastate large parts of the Earth, such as the state of Texas in the United States or even all of France, according to information from the Putin government.

This missile, which could eliminate Spain from the map, weighs 208.1 tons and is 35.3 meters high. Its diameter is 3 meters and reaches a speed of 24,500 kilometers per hour. This last piece of information is extremely important, since it could evade current defense systems thanks to its great speed and to the fact that it has up to 15 nuclear warheads.

One of the characteristics that make it extremely destructive are those warheads or nuclear warheads that can point in different directions, that is, they are independent of each other. The idea of this missile is to overcome US anti-missile systems, explains Yago Rodríguez, director of ‘The Political Room’.

“Russia considered that US anti-missile systems can shoot down the bulk of nuclear weapons before they reach a target. This has forced the design of a new missile that allows maintain its nuclear deterrent capability“Rodríguez details.

A power 2,000 times greater than the Hiroshima bomb

This intercontinental ballistic missile has a huge destructive capacity from up to 40 megatons. If we take the Hiroshima nuclear bomb, which was launched in World War II and left 150,000 dead, as a reference, this missile has a power 2,000 times greater.

About his scopefrom Russia they assure that it exceeds 10,000 kilometers, but other international sources say that we could be talking about up to 17,000 kilometers.

How can Sarmat overcome anti-missile systems?

The Sarmat has “a super high speedwhich reduces the time they have to intercept it”, comments the director of ‘The Political Room’ and adds that it also has “what are known as ‘multiple re-entry vehicles’, that is, a missile loaded with nuclear warheads“.

“The moment you release it, you no longer have to intercept a missile, but 16 nuclear warheads that are heading for Earth at full speed, taking advantage of the force of attraction itself, gravity,” says Yago Rodríguez.

The director of ‘The Political Room’ concludes by stating that this is “another step on the part of Russia to put pressure in the west“.
