The Ukrainian Armed Forces claim to have destroyed around 95 Russian fighter planes, 115 helicopters, 72 missile launch systems and 44 air defense systems throughout the war.
In addition, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, at least 14,400 Russian soldiers have died in the fighting.
The calculations of the General Staff are provisional since, as noted, estimating the damage caused to the enemy is not easy due to the intensity of the fighting.
The General Staff contemplates the possibility that to compensate for the high number of casualties, the Russian Government opts for total mobilization and tries to prolong the war.
The Ukrainians claim to have also destroyed 1,470 armored fighting vehicles, 60 fuel tanks and 11 special vehicles.
According to Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky, the Russian army is no longer at war with the Ukrainian army but is waging a war against the civilian population.
“The Russian army is not at war with the Ukrainian army, it is only at war with civilians and is using the tactic of surrounding large cities and attacking them with cruise missiles and air bombs to create humanitarian crises.”said.
“They are trying to create a war scenario like the Syrian or the Afghan in Ukraine”he added.
According to figures from the Ukrainian juvenile prosecutor’s office, throughout the more than 20 days of war, at least 112 children have died as a result of Russian attacks and at least 140 have been injured.
