The double pension is not paid by ZUS. Money can go to up to three social groups, but it is paid out by other institutions. Who can apply for funds on this account?
Double pension for uniformed people is possible, but not for everyone
These are the people working in uniformed services, i.e. police officers, can receive not only the civilian pension paid by the Social Insurance Institution, but also the so-called uniform. The ZER of the Ministry of Interior and Administration is responsible for its payment. This option is possible due to the lack of possibility to determine the amount of the uniformed pension taking into account the time of working as a civilian. However, by the end of 2021, by the decision of the Supreme Court, not all uniformed soldiers will have such an option. This is because professional soldiers were admitted to service on January 1, 1999. This group has to choose which benefit they want to receive.
A second farmer’s pension will be granted on one condition
Only farmers who have paid contributions not only to ZUS, but also to KRUS can apply for a double pension. They will be granted it if the contributions to KRUS have been paid for at least 25 years.
People working abroad may also apply for a double pension
Traveling abroad for work purposes is grounds for applying for a double pension, but not in all cases. Employment had to be legal and contributions should be paid for this period. In addition, the conditions for obtaining a retirement pension (e.g. reaching the appropriate age) must also be met in a given country, and these usually differ from the criteria in force in Poland.
