Swiss President Ignazio Cassis will travel early next week to Poland and Moldova, two of the main countries receiving Ukrainian refugeesto discuss the situation of these groups and the humanitarian aid from Switzerlandhighlighted today the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.
Cassis will meet on Monday in Warsaw, the Polish capital, with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and the next day, Tuesday, with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, in Chisinau, the capital of that country.
The Swiss president will also discuss with the Polish prime minister issues related to European security policy, and in Moldova, which has one of its main donor countries in Switzerland, will visit a refugee reception center.
Swiss diplomacy highlighted that of the 80 million francs (77 million euros) approved by Switzerland for humanitarian aid in response to the war in Ukraine, a quarter will go to neighboring countries that have received large flows of refugeess, case of Poland (with almost two million) or Moldova (around 200,000).
