Prince Andrés, accused of sexual abuse, requested to dismiss the complaint in New York

Andrés was alleged to have sexually abused a woman in the London home of socialite Ghislaine Maxwell.

British Prince Andrew filed an appeal on Friday to dismiss the complaint of sexual abuse against him made by an alleged victim in a New York court, according to a court document.

The Duke of York’s lawyers allege in the appeal that Andrés “respectfully requests the dismissal of Virginia Giuffre’s lawsuit,” which accuses him of having sexually abused her more than 20 years ago, when she was 17, considered a minor by US law.

Andrés, 61, has not been criminally charged and has refuted all the accusations.

Last month, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II agreed to have received official documents of the case and had until October 29 to respond to the complaint.

His lawyers asked the Manhattan district court to dismiss the complaint as “legally unfounded.”

They also asked Giuffre, 38, “to provide a more complete statement of his allegations.”

“Prince Andrew respectfully requests that the court make an oral argument on his application,” the court says in a terse statement.

Giuffre alleges that Andrés sexually abused her at the London home of socialite Ghislaine Maxwell.

He also assures that he had sexual relations with her in the New York home of the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein, as well as on the private island that he owned in the Virgin Islands.

Giuffre accuses Epstein, who committed suicide while awaiting trial for child trafficking in 2019, of lending her to his wealthy and powerful friends to have sex with her.

Andrés has practically disappeared from public life since he was forced to withdraw from the front line of real activities in 2019 for not distancing himself from Epstein.

Maxwell’s trial is scheduled to begin Nov. 29 to answer charges of recruiting teens for Epstein. He pleaded not guilty. (I)
