Thus the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues for another day. The Ukrainian military says a Russian attempt to storm Mariupol has been repulsed. According to the Mariupol city hall, the number of people killed in the besieged port city as of March 14 was approximately 2,357 people.

Russian forces have besieged the strategic city for a week and a half, leaving its 430,000 residents desperate for energy, food and water.

Ukraine’s deputy prime minister, Irina Vereshchuk, has highlighted that seven of the ten active humanitarian corridors in the country managed to get some 4,000 people from active points of conflict. Thus, it has detailed that at least 2,028 people were rescued from the kyiv region, 400 from the city of Gostomel, 620 from the villages of Nemishayeve and Vorzel, 100 from the village of Dmytrivka and 800 from the village of Peremoha. At the same time, according to Vereshchuk, 1,780 people were evacuated from the Lugansk region – 600 from Severodonetsk, 210 from Popasna, 76 from Horsky, 480 from Rubizhne, 82 from Kreminna and 340 civilians from Lysychansk -, as reported by the agency. According to UN data, around 2.8 million people have fled Ukraine since the war began.
