At least one person has died this Monday by attacks carried out by Russian forces against the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, including the impact of a projectile against an apartment building, as confirmed by the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko. “Kiev has been attacked by the enemy today,” he said in a message on Telegram in which he indicated that “a shell hit a nine-story residential building in Obolon early in the morning.”
“One person died, several were injured and 70 were evacuated,” he detailed. Likewise, Klitschko has pointed out that “remains of a shell fell on a road in Kurenivkakilling one person and injuring six.” The impact has also caused damage to a trolleybus, which has been “completely destroyed.” “Rescue teams are working in the area,” he added.
Hours earlier, the State Emergency Service had confirmed one dead and twelve injured in the attack on the residential building in Obolon, before noting that a fire sparked by the impact of the projectile “has been extinguished”. On the other hand, at least three civilians have died in an attack carried out against the town of Ojtirka, according to its mayor, Pavlo Kuzmenko, who has stressed that the bombing has reached “residential buildings”, as reported by the portal of Ukrinform news.
“Unfortunately, today there is no protection against bombing. The country does not have it. Everyone asks for protection and they closed the skies in Ukraine“, he stated, thus demanding a no-fly zone. “The pilots who have bombed Ojtirka must know that they are killing civilians,” he settled.
