PHOTO GALLERY. ‘Newsweek’ magazine, in collaboration with the Statista portal, has drawn up its annual list of the best hospitals in the world. For this, more than 2,200 centers in 27 countries selected based on factors such as life expectancy, population size, number of hospitals or data availability have been analyzed, according to the Yahoo portal.
To establish the ranking they have been based on a survey of 80,000 medical professionals. Data related to the experience of patients in these hospitals and with indicators that have to do with hygiene measures, safety or the number of patients per doctor or nurse have also been analyzed.
According to this classification, five of the 12 best hospitals in the world are in the United States, although there are also from Canada, Europe and Asia.
Among the 100 best hospitals in the world there are only six Spanish, although all of them are far from the highest positions. The first is the Universitario La Paz in Madrid in position 52, followed by the Clinic in Barcelona (63), the 12 de Octubre in Madrid (66), the Gregorio Marañón in Madrid (75), the Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona ( 81) and the Navarra University Clinic in Pamplona (86).
