The head of US diplomacy, Antony Blinken, judged on Sunday as “very credible” the reports that account for “war crimes” committed by Russia during its invasion of Ukraine, in an interview with CNN.
“We have seen very credible reports of deliberate targeting of civilians, which would constitute a crime of war”, Blinken said on the show “State of the Union” of CNN, assuring that the United States “examined” this information.
The US Secretary of State, who was making these statements from Moldova after a meeting with authorities in Poland on the border with Ukraine, considered that the war could “last for some time” but that Russian President Vladimir Putin “I was doomed to lose her.”
“Winning a battle is not winning the war. Taking a city does not mean that he (Putin) will take the hearts and souls of the Ukrainian people.”he stated. “The Ukrainian people showed that they will not allow themselves to be annexed and ruled by Vladimir Putin or Russia”he indicated.
On the eleventh day of the invasion of Ukrainethe Russian advance on Kiev in the north continues with the reinforcement of bombardments on Ukrainian cities that have killed dozens of civilians, especially in Chernigov150 kilometers north of the capital.
According to the United Nations, more than 1.5 million people have left Ukraine as refugees and hundreds of civilians have been killed.
