The attack, provoked under the modality of hired assassins, left two people injured: a man and a minor.
Both victims were walking on the Paquisha road when two subjects on a motorcycle perpetrated the attack in the midst of the presence of passers-by and customers of businesses in the area.
Witnesses indicated that at least six shots were heard after 5:30 p.m.
According to the Police, in the first instance, both wounded were referred to the basic hospital of the canton. Due to her state of health, the minor had to be transferred to a health home in Guayaquil.
After the first investigations it was determined that the attack was directed towards the man, Marco Enríquez, head of the Playas District, told local media.

Personnel from special units were in charge of surveying the ballistic signs that remained in the sector, reviewing videos from security cameras and taking witness testimonies to find those responsible for the crime.
The Police still maintains the investigations to establish the motivations of the event.
“In this sector there are cameras; It is a very transited sector by the Police, all the time it is passing through here. Unfortunately, criminals normally look for the opportunity to commit any illicit act,” said Enríquez.
According to police data, the province of Guayas recorded 287 violent deaths as of March 3. It is the province with the highest rate of events of this type. (I)
