The six border countries of Afghanistan and Russia on Wednesday asked the Taliban to “adopt a friendly attitude” towards their neighbors and fulfill their commitments especially in the fight against terrorism.
“We take note of the guarantees and commitments of Afghan officials towards the international community that their territory will not be a threat to neighboring countries,” the Foreign Ministers of the seven countries said in a common statement after a meeting in Tehran.

This is the second meeting of this type and a third is planned in 2022 in Beijing.
In a video message addressed to the participants, the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, recalled the need to “protect and help the refugees” and “avoid the total collapse of the Afghan economy.”
