Donetsk and Lugansk order a massive evacuation of civilians to Russian territory

Some 700,000 residents will be evacuated to Rostov. The pro-independence leaders have warned that the president of Ukraine “will soon give an order to the Army for an offensive” that would invade the republics, an extreme that Kiev has denied.

The popular republics of Donetsk and Lugansk have today ordered the massive evacuation of civilians to Russian territory in fear of an attack by the Ukrainian Army, which this Friday has denied that it has plans of this type. Thus, some 700,000 residents will be evacuated to Rostov, the Russian Interfax agency reported.

“Russia is ready to guarantee the organized entry and location of residents of the Lugansk People’s Republic,” said the leader of the Lugansk separatists, Leonid Passechnik.

Hours earlier the leader of Donetsk, Denis Pushilinhas announced “a massive centralized departure” of the population, especially of women, children and the elderly”, and has warned that the president of Ukraine, Volodímir Zelenski, “will soon give an order to the Army for an offensive” that would invade the republics .

However, the Ukrainian Defense Minister, Oleksii Reznikovsaid today in the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) that Kiev is not planning any violent action against the independence territories, because it is committed to a peaceful solution to the conflict.

The governor of the Russian region of RostovVasili Golubev today addressed President Vladimir Putin in the face of the massive arrival of residents from eastern Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said today.

Faced with this situation, Putin has ordered the Minister of Emergencies Situations, Aleksand Chuprian, to travel to Rostov, bordering eastern Ukraine, to supervise the accommodation conditions of the refugees, according to what the representative of the Russian Presidency told the agency interface.

10,000 rubles to each evacuee

“The Russian president also ordered the government to grant an aid of 10,000 rubles (about 130 dollars)” to each evacuee, he added.

In recent hours, especially on Thursday, there have been serious violations of the ceasefire established in 2015 in the east of the country.

Donetsk claimed today that the Ukrainian armed forces have opened fire on the republic 30 times this Friday, according to TASS. In turn, the Ukrainian forces have reported 45 violations of the ceasefire by the independentists.

Putin denounces “an aggravation of the situation”

the president of RussiaVladimir Putin, has denounced “a worsening of the situation” in eastern Ukraine and has criticized Kiev for not wanting to sit down to negotiate with the separatists who control Donetsk and Lugansk.

“All that Kiev has to do is sit down to negotiate with representatives of the Donbass and agree on political, military, economic and humanitarian measures to end this conflict,” said Putin, who received his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, in Moscow on Friday. .

Putin has stated that this dialogue should arrive “the sooner the better”, but the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, has only been in favor of recovering the international negotiation formats, with the presence of Russia as well.

The Russian president has accused Kiev of failing to comply with the Minsk Agreements to end the conflict, lamenting, for example, that the Constitution has not been amended to grant a “special status” to the eastern regions or there has been no progress in calling local elections or in relation to the “amnesty”, reports the Sputnik agency.
