With four goals scored, Fabinho is named Liverpool’s best player in January

Fabinho’s good start to the year Liverpool was awarded this Friday. The Brazilian was elected, in a popular vote, the best player of the team in the month of January, when he scored four goals in six games.

“Usually I’m the last man in protection but now I have the opportunity to be in the area more often on set pieces and try to make different moves,” the midfielder told the English club’s official website.

“Sometimes, even if you don’t win the first ball, the second ball can come to you and you can score. When you score goals, you are more confident that the ball will come,” added Fabinho.

It is worth remembering that for much of January, Liverpool did not have Salah and Mané. Both were defending Egypt and Senegal respectively in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Jurgen Klopp’s team returns to the field this Saturday, against Norwich, for the English Premier League. The match will be played at Anfield, at 12:00 (Brasília time).
