The UN rapporteur for Palestine, Francesca Albanese, and her counterpart for the right to health, Tlaleng Mofokeng, condemned this Wednesday the destruction of the main hospital in Loop after two weeks of siege and they assured that it is a sample of the genocide that the Strip is suffering.
“The world is witnessing the first genocide shown live by the victims themselves“, noted the two United Nations experts in a statement where they reiterated their call for the UN member states to “use all your power to stop him”.
“Allowing this violence to occur sends a message to the international community that the people of Gaza have no right to health.”, lamented Mofokeng and Albanese, the latter author of a recent report in which she presents evidence that Israel is committing crimes constituting genocide against the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip.
The deliberate destruction of health infrastructure in Gaza “has created conditions calculated to destroy an already traumatized and distressed population“, stressed the two rapporteurs.
