Three days after death of Alexei Navalny, his family has still not been able to access the morgue where they believe his body is. His widow, Yulia Navalnayahas blamed Vladimir Putin for having killed her husband, announcing that “soon” they will say how the crime in which she says her husband lost his life occurred.
“We know exactly why Putin killed Alexei three days ago. We will say it soon. We will definitely find out who and how exactly committed this crime. We will give the names and show their faces,” he announces from Brussels.
Meanwhile, Western leaders have condemned the death of the Kremlin opponent, with Germany recalling the Russian ambassador in Berlin over Navalny’s deathdied last Friday in an Arctic prison.
Russian independent media have published a video recorded by a security camera in which it could show the transfer of the body from Navalny from prison to the nearest city. This Monday, her mother tried to enter the morgue where her body is believed to be, but she was denied entry.
Until now, more than 400 people have been arrested at events in 32 Russian cities. In the streets of Saint Petersburg, Putin’s hometown, they demonstrate without fear, knowing that placing a flower in memory of Navalny could mean jail. With the regime’s great dissident out of the picture, Putin aspires to elections without the slightest opposition.
