Ecuador foresees 5,000 additional barrels of oil with new wells in the Amazon

Ecuador foresees additional production of about 5,000 barrels of Petroleum additional per day until the end of 2024, thanks to the drilling of nine wells on a platform in the Amazon province of Orellana.

The state company Petroecuador reported this Thursday that its technicians began drilling the first of those nine wells in the Sacha field.

The release and completion of the works took 250 days, and for the development of this project, 70% of local labor was hired, in accordance with the Amazon Law, the statement said.

This drilling campaign will have technology that allows sustainable production, guaranteeing care for the environment and communities.

At present, the Sacha field has four drilling rigs and five workover towers.

During the last month the field Sasha recorded an approximate production of 80,000 barrels per day, Petroecuador noted, noting that the estimated reserves are 342 million barrels.
