The Israel-Hamas war continues, despite having announced a humanitarian truce (Israel delays it at least until Friday). This Thursday, November 23, the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah fired nearly 50 projectiles against Israel from southern Lebanon on Thursday, in what became its largest attack against the neighboring country since the outbreak of a conflict as a result of of the attacks perpetrated on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) against Israeli territory.

The Lebanese group has pointed out the launch of 48 Katyusha-type projectiles against an Israeli base in the surroundings of the city of Safed, while adding that it launched an attack around 8:30 a.m. (local time) on November 23, against “Israeli enemy infantry soldiers” at the Al Dhahira base. “Appropriate weapons have been used and there have been direct hits,” he said, as reported by the Al Manar television network, linked to Hezbollah.

Hezbollah has launched between 30 and 50 projectiles against the northern part of the countryaccording to Israeli media, after which the authorities of the Manara kibbutz have confirmed that two projectiles have hit two homes in the area, with no information on casualties at the moment.

For its part, the Israeli Army has indicated in a statement on its website that it has attacked “an anti-tank squadron” in the Zerait area and has confirmed artillery attacks against “the sources of the shots” of the projectiles. On the other hand, videos published on social networks show the interception of several projectiles in Israeli airspace.

Hezbollah, a group supported by the Iranian authorities, is immersed in fighting with the Israeli Army following the aforementioned attacks carried out by Hamas, in what it describes as operations in support of Palestinian armed groups. The situation has raised fears of an expansion of the conflict to neighboring Lebanon and even the entire region.

Israel launched its offensive against Gaza after the Hamas attacks, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 240 kidnapped. Hamas-controlled Gaza authorities have so far reported more than 14,500 deaths, including more than 6,000 children, from the Israeli offensive, while more than 200 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem by Israeli forces or in attacks carried out by settlers since October 7.
