More than 10,000 young people in Ciudad Real have benefited from an integration and coexistence project of the European Parliament whose main objective is based on coexisting with other realities to promote the inclusion and respect of people with different realities. The project begins with a search in parks and leisure areas for young people at risk.

This was the case, for example, of Ismael Ajjaji Kayna, who although he is now walking towards a defined goal, in his adolescence it was not easy at all. “I come from a Moroccan family and it is a label that sticks”the young man explained to laSexta.

Added to this situation was that, living in many cities, He couldn’t make many friends along the way.. Thus, he came across Empu-G, a program in the province of Ciudad Real that helps young people in risk situations, and with which he managed to train as a social educator.

Now, with her experience she helps young people like Alexandra, Ukrainian refugee who fled the war a little over a year ago. Thanks to the project, these young people have shared days of coexistence in a program that has mixed different realities and placed empathy at the center.

The success of the project has led to the European Parliament awarding it the European Citizen Award after already helping more than 10,000 young people in the province by providing them with tools so they can make the right decisions.
