On August 5, daniel sanchoson of the well-known actor Rodolfo Sancho, confessed to murder in Thailand to the Colombian doctor Edwin Arrieta. He is currently awaiting trial and serving pretrial detention on Koh Samui.

Daniel Sancho’s family has assured in a statement this Thursday, August 10, that they are very sorry for Edwin’s death. Likewise, the family assured not to make any more statements “to respect the painful moment that both families are experiencing.”

They also appreciated the interest of the press, without being able to make statements at this time so as not to interfere in the investigation, as stated in the brief statement, read to EFE by Fernando Oca, director of the law firm that represents Daniel Sancho in Koh Samui, before a scheduled meeting with the Spaniard in the prison on this island, located in the Gulf of Thailand.

“We are very sorry for Edwin’s death and we are with his family in their feelings,” the statement said. Daniel Sancho, 29, received the first visit on Tuesday from the lawyer from the Oca office that represents him, known as Khun Anan, services contracted by the Spaniard’s family, who was assisted by court-appointed lawyers for the first few days.

In a previous statement sent to EFE on Sunday, August 6, the actor Rodolfo Sancho asked for the “maximum respect for your child and for the whole family, in these delicate moments and maximum confusion. Likewise, and in said document, the actor and the young man’s family begged “the media to refrain from issuing any hasty judgment” in light of the latest events.

Daniel Sancho Bronchalo was brought before a court on Monday, and has been remanded in Koh Samui ever since, awaiting trial. He is charged by the police with the murder and dismemberment of Arrieta.
