Elon Musk chickened out? He doesn’t want to fight Zuckerberg anymore. A new idea. “Debate in the Cage”

Elon Musk, who until recently wanted to fight Mark Zuckerberg in the ring, agreed to a new idea. Chris Anderson, head of the TED conference, proposed that instead of a cage fight, a cage debate should be organized. “That sounds like a good idea,” Musk said.

The fist fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg has been loud since June, when the first of the billionaires challenged. The owner of Twitter (now known as X) reacted in this way to the news about Zuck’s planned launch of the Threads application, which is a direct competitor to Twitter. However, Musk apparently did not expect that Zuckerberg – who has been training ju-jitsu for years – would actually accept the challenge.

Debate instead of actual combat. “That sounds like a good idea”

Chris Anderson, head of the TED science conference, where Musk himself has appeared many times, decided to express his opinion on the fight that Musk and Zuckerberg want to fight. As he said, a “DEBATE in a cage” would be a better idea. Anderson believes that fighting arguments about how to “build an amazing future” will benefit everyone more. He added that no tricks would be prohibited other than the “factual” ones. The conversation would be broadcast simultaneously on the X platform and Instagram and – according to the originator – has a chance to become “the most watched debate in history”.

Musk surprisingly agreed to such a plan. “That sounds like a good idea too,” he wrote in a post on X. “Such a fight, I believe, is like a noble sport. We hope to humbly express our admiration for those who have previously fought for noble causes,” added Musk. Mark Zuckerberg has not yet responded to Anderson’s proposal, which was applauded by the head of Tesla, SpaceX and X.

As recalled on Monday, Musk wrote that before the planned fight he must do research. He admitted that he is awaiting an MRI of his upper back and may have to undergo surgery before the fight takes place.

Musk’s parents urged him to let go. Zuc is ready

Observers and Internet users gave Zuckerberg a better chance in an actual fight in the ring. The Facebook founder is a ju-jitsu aficionado and has won two medals in the sport since January. Musk was also encouraged to fight with words, not fists, in late June by his mother – Maye Musk. A similar opinion was expressed by the billionaire’s father – Errol Musk. “The thing is, if this crazy fight happens and Elon beats this guy, he’ll be called a thug because he’s so much heavier and taller. And if he loses, the humiliation will be total,” he told The Sun.

In recent days, Musk and Zuckerberg have exchanged several plans for a matchup. The first of them proposed that the fight be broadcast on Portal X, and the funds collected during it should be donated to charity. The second said that Facebook, which has a built-in tool for collecting donations, would be much better suited for this purpose. Zuckerberg also confirmed that he was ready to fight and proposed that the fight take place on August 26. As previously agreed, it would take place in Las Vegas.
