Unemployment rate in the EU. Eurostat has released new data
According to Eurostat estimates, over 13 million people were unemployed in the EU in April, of which 11 million in the euro area. On the other hand, the youth unemployment rate (under 25) remains high. In April it amounted to 13.8 percent. in the European Union and 13.9 percent. in the euro area. The lowest rate was recorded in Germany (6.1%) and the highest – again – in Greece (27.4%) and (28.4%). In Poland, however, it is 10.3 percent. “New historical minimum on the unemployment rate in the Eurozone: 6.5 percent. This is not the case everywhere – in the countries of the southern Euroland, lower levels were at the turn of 2007/2008.
