Around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 23 applicants arrived by bus at the industrial park where these shoes are manufactured, on the outskirts of the capital city of Tungurahuan. Forty-five minutes later, in alphabetical order, the beauty queens paraded in three upholstery, each showing attractive possible combinations with the new collections of the Venus urban line. These are Ares designs, made of canvas with a white rubber sole and upper; Dugan, old man sneakers fake fur; and the new Chelsea, which follows the design of the well-known boots of the same name, with elastic sides, but in a rubber and waterproof version.

All available in different colors, as shown in this catwalk set up in a logistics shed that has become a short-lived venue for fashion events, with metal structures for ambient lighting, trendy music, minimalist snacks (like a skewer inspired by traditional yapingacho), and even and an elevated platform for media photographers and videographers, just as it happens during fashion weeks.

One of the outfits that caught our attention the most was the one worn by Sulay Mora from Guayaquil, who combined a monochromatic look with tan shorts, a white jumpsuit, a camel-colored fur vest and beige Chelsea boots. The second was the one Daniela Romero showed off in a white long-sleeved red-print sweater and shorts that she accessorized with a pair of red Ares. Nicole Pinilla’s outfit was also interesting, as she wore white shorts and a blazer with White Ares.

This parade confirmed the alliance of Plasticauch with Miss Ecuador, since Venus will accompany the contestants throughout the beauty pageant as an official sponsor. “It is a pleasure for us to contribute to this initiative that empowers women and promotes their sustainable development, also to show that everything we Ecuadorians do is excellent,” Xavier Cuesta, General Manager of Plasticaucho, said excitedly at the event, which also promoted another surprise mornings: a new personalized line, which will be available for a limited time.

“On election day, in the parade of candidates in casual clothes, shoes will be presented that will be specially adapted to each of them. We will have this new option very soon on our website, venus.com.ec”, indicated the CEO. The idea is that this line can be bought the day after the national reign, that is, after July 1, when the new Miss Ecuador is announced.
