The Belgian government has announced that it will administer a booster dose to the entire population and that teleworking will be mandatory for four days a week to cope with the increase in COVID-19 infections.
Belgium has tightened this Wednesday the measures to stop the new wave of covid-19, with the return to mandatory telecommuting four days a week and the reintroduction of widespread use of masks, but it has avoided closing sectors or confining specific groups as other European countries have done.
In addition, the Belgian federal authorities have confirmed that a booster doses of the vaccine against covid-19 to the entire population, although the date from which it will be available will be determined in the coming weeks.
“The philosophy is to maintain openness, but with reinforced security measures,” said the Belgian prime minister, Alexander de Croo, in a press conference.
