The first Italian minister, Giorgia Meloni, visited the town of Cutro, in Calabria, on March 9, to hold a council of ministers. Just a few days before, the area had suffered the shipwreck of a barge in which some 200 migrants were traveling. Meloni justified not he would meet with the relatives of the victims because “he did not have time”.
However, it later appeared a video recorded that same night, in a karaoke, which has outraged public opinion. “Look, I just finished now. I haven’t had time.” These were the Prime Minister’s statements to a journalist who asked him if he would visit the relatives of the victims.
A few hours later he was in a karaoke together with Berlusconi celebrating Matteo Salvini’s 50th birthday, as you can see in the video above. Thousands of people marched on Saturday afternoon in Cutro to remember the victims.
