Russian Security Council Vice President Dmitry Medvedev has warned the West that continuing to arm Ukraine will lead to an apocalypse, in an article published Monday in the Izvestia newspaper. “Our enemies do just that. (to arm Ukraine) without understanding that their goals lead to a total fiasco, to failure, to everyone losing, to an apocalypse,” wrote former Russian President Medvedev, who led the country from 2008 to 2012.
Then, he added, “we will have to forget about our previous life for centuries, until the smoking rubble stops emitting radiation“.
Medvedev has pointed out that in the West the “feverish illusion persists that after finishing off the Soviet Union without a single shot they will be able to without big problems bury today’s Russia“.
According to the former president, it is a “extremely dangerous mistake”. “If the existence of Russia is really called into question, this will not be resolved on the Ukrainian front, but together with the issue of the further existence of human civilization,” Medvedev stressed, adding: “We do not need a world without Russia “.
At the same time, the former president has assured that Russia will not allow events to take that course. “And we are not alone in this endeavor. Western countries and their satellites account for only 15 percent of the planet’s population. We are many more and much stronger”, he added.
