Coach Karpin said that football player Dziuba can count on getting into the Russian national team
The head coach of the Russian national football team Valery Karpin assessed the chances of the striker of the Moscow Lokomotiv Artem Dzyuba to return to the team. His words are quoted by Match TV.
The specialist said that in order to call him to the national team, the Russians need to hold official matches. Karpin stressed that any footballer, regardless of age, if he suits the coaching staff and proves his level by playing, can count on getting into the team.
On February 8, Dzyuba signed a contract with Lokomotiv. The agreement is valid until the end of the 2022/2023 season. The 34-year-old football player will earn 2.5 million rubles a month.
Dzyuba played under the leadership of Karpin in Spartak in the 2011/2012 season. In 2021, the coach did not call the striker to the national team for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Later, Karpin included the striker in the extended list of the team, but he refused to play due to poor game form.
