The director of the center, La Salle’s brother Salvatore Santoro, also speaks Spanish, because he studied in Madrid for three years, as he recalled at the ceremony in which dozens of children received the Spanish ambassador and the director with flags of Spain painted by themselves. of the Cervantes Institute.

“Villa Flaminia working hard on the internationality of the institution. We start with English” and then “We think of Spanish because it is a widely spoken language in the world and it can also help children, who are the future society”.

“For us it is important that they can not only experience the language, but also the culture and the people”which means “a very important baggage for his life”adds the director, for whom “The closeness between Spain and Italy culturally” has been “fundamental for these kids to decide on Spanish”.

The Italian educational system contemplates the study of Spanish in all its stages of compulsory education, in some professional training itineraries and in the university, and offers it in more than 5,000 educational centers.
