Russian forward Vladimir Tarasenko was named the first star of the day in the NHL
Russian forward “New York Rangers” Vladimir Tarasenko was named the first star of the day in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported on the official website of the organization.
The second star of the evening was Pittsburgh Penguins guard Pierre-Olivier Joseph, who scored two goals and provided an assist during a game against the Anaheim Ducks. Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Tavares, who scored two goals against the Columbus Blue Jackets, was recognized as the third player of the game of the day.
Tarasenko scored the puck against the Seattle Kraken. This meeting was his debut in the Rangers. The forward scored a goal 2:49 minutes into the game. Only three players in the history of the club managed to do it faster: Norman Lowe in 1950 (1:00), Lane Lambert (2:28) in 1986 and Mike Ellison (2:44) in 1980.
Tarasenko has been playing in the NHL since 2013. For ten years, he played for the St. Louis Blues, with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2019. In early February 2023, the hockey player joined the Rangers.
