Irma Felipe lost her son after being beaten by her sentimental partner inside her home in the municipality of Jiquipilco, in the State of Mexico.
In 2005, she was arrested for the crime of homicide despite being the victim. Her case was not prosecuted with a gender or human rights perspective and she received a sentence.
The woman was transferred to her home by CODHEM officials, whom she thanked “for always being with me, I don’t have a better family than you,” she ended to reunite with her loved ones and start her new life. (YO)
