WhatsApp will allow you to open the app on two cell phones at the same time

WhatsApp is developing a new functionality for Android that allows you to open the instant messaging application with the same phone number or user in two mobile terminals simultaneously.

Currently, WhatsApp allows you to link the application of the smartphone with other devices, such as a computer or a tablet, with its web version using the ‘Linked devices’ option.

Users can use up to four paired devices and one phone at a time, and the mobile doesn’t have to stay online to use WhatsApp on these devices. However, if more than 14 days pass and the mobile phone has not been used, the linked devices will be disconnected, according to the company on its website.

Recently WABetaInfo has noticed a change related to the way the user has to link an account with other technological devices in the new version 2.22.10.13 released via Google Play beta program where the company currently works.

In a screenshot shared by this portal, a new section called ‘Register device as a complement’ is included, which will appear when the user tries to open the application on a second mobile.

To be able to link the application in both, it will be necessary to scan the QR code that is displayed on the screen of the main device with the second mobile. As has been underlined WABetaInfothanks to this function you can also link a tablet with android operating system as a secondary device in the future.

For now the release date of this new feature is unknown and it is not known whether it will be implemented on devices with the iOS operating system. (I)
