Once again the CHARLIE-CRP alert has been extended
“The prime minister signed orders extending the second alert level (BRAVO) in the Lublin and Podkarpackie voivodeships and the third CRP alert stage (CHARLIE-CRP) throughout the country. The stages will be in force until April 15, 2022, 23:59” – he informed Government Security Center (RCB) on social media on Thursday.
For citizens it doesn’t change much – but they need to be more attentive and cautious in the internet space.
Alert levels in cyberspace
The CHARLIE – CRP stage is the third of four alert stages. As reported by the Government Center for Security, this level is introduced in the event of an event confirming the probable target of a terrorist attack in cyberspace or obtaining reliable information about the planned event.
CRP levels are introduced in situations of suspected terrorist attacks that relate to public administration ICT systems or systems that are part of the critical infrastructure. The first is ALFA, the next is BRAVO, the third is CHARLIE, and DELTA means the highest level of alarm – he informs.
In accordance with the Act on Counter-Terrorism of June 10, 2016, alarms of this type are introduced and canceled by the Prime Minister. The opinion of the minister of internal affairs and administration, as well as the head of the Internal Security Agency, is also important. In exceptional situations, it may be done by the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, after consultation with the head of the Internal Security Agency. The head of government must also be informed.
