We are Crafts: Mincetur launches a new edition that promotes craft activity

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) announced a new edition of the Strategy to Reactivate and Promote Craft Activity, called “Somos Artesanía 2022-I”, a public contest that will deliver money directly to the winning artisans.

The head of the Mincetur, Roberto Sánchez, pointed out that this initiative is an important government measure to continue supporting our brothers in the craft sector who are economically affected, due to the consequences of COVID-19.

“We invite the artisans of the country to be attentive to the application dates and requirements that their participation in Somos Artesanía will require. We continue to work hard to support the entire chain of the tourism sector in the country. The government of President Pedro Castillo is committed to the reactivation of Peruvian artisans,” said the head of Mincetur.

It should be noted that the published legal norm indicates that the Strategy to Reactivate and Promote Craft Activity “Somos Artesanía 2022-I”, has an assigned budget of S/ 2 million 500,000.

Said amount will serve for the operation of the contest, delivery of economic subsidies, in addition to the monitoring, follow-up and reporting of the money given to the winners.

The Strategy to Reactivate and Promote the Artisan Activity “We are Crafts”, promoted by Mincetur, has been developed since August 2021. So far, S / 11 million 329,670 have been disbursed in favor of the country’s artisans.
