WhatsApp is beginning to implement on iOS devices the option that prevents users from forwarding the same message to multiple chat groups within the application simultaneously, so that it can only be shared in a single chat of these characteristics at a time.
It was early March when WABetaInfo warned that the app had introduced this feature in the beta for the android update 2.22.7.2 and is now verified in beta version 22.7.0.76 for iOS.
Now, WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot showing a notification warning users that it is not possible to reenviar messages sent to more than one group chat at once.
This new functionality limits the forwarding of messages to one, so that when a message appears as forwarded, it is no longer possible to send it to other WhatsApp groups.
Those who attempt to do so will see a notification on their screen detailing that “Forwarded messages can only be sent to a single group chat”.
In this way, users who intend to send a certain message to more than one group chat must return to it, select it and send it individually to another conversation with several participants.
It should be remembered that this restriction modified the measure put in place by the company in 2020 when a limit was introduced for messages forwarded to groups in order to stop the expansion of ‘fake news‘ or fake news.
At the moment this option is only available for either WhatsApp for Android 2.22.8.11 beta testers or WhatsApp for iOS 22.7.0.76 beta. (I)
