Bloomberg predicts $35 monthly minimum iPhone subscription price
The iPhone offered by Apple as a subscription will have a minimum price of $35. It is reported by Bloomberg.
Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman predicted how much the most affordable smartphone Apple could offer as part of a subscription would cost. According to the author, the iPhone 13 will cost the user $ 35 per month – this amount will be debited from the client’s account in the event of a three-year contract. The iPhone 13 Pro will cost $45 per month, the iPhone 13 Pro Max will cost $50.
According to the specialist, the subscription model of smartphones is beneficial for the company. On the one hand, Apple will be able to earn more. So, if the iPhone 13 costs at least $ 799, then for three years the user will pay $ 1260 for the device. On the other hand, the company will be able to take old devices from the client, repair them and sell them again as refurbished smartphones.
Gurman believes that the benefit to the consumer is that he will be able to receive a current smartphone every year: “He does not have to shell out hundreds of dollars for a new iPhone.” The expert also compared the new model with a leasing program popular in the car market: “You pay part of the cost of the iPhone, but you never own it completely.”
At the end of March, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman said that Apple plans to launch a subscription service for devices – smartphones, tablets and other equipment. The project is in development, but the company may announce it before the end of 2022 or postpone the announcement to 2023.
