Intel and AMD suspended deliveries to Russia

Processor manufacturers Intel and AMD announced the suspension of product deliveries in Russia

The largest American manufacturers of processors Intel and AMD have officially suspended deliveries of their products to Russia. It is reported by RBC.

Processors manufactured by Intel and AMD are used by the largest Russian companies for their supercomputers. Among such companies are Yandex, MTS, as well as MSU platforms. Chips are also used by manufacturers of computers, monoblocks and storage systems.

A source close to one of the Russian electronics manufacturers assured that the restrictive measures do not apply to laptops and personal computers (PCs) in the consumer segment. “However, everything related to the industrial segment is banned, including the import of production equipment and components, which will definitely have a negative impact on domestic production,” the specialist said.

Earlier it became known that the American engineering company General Electric suspended its activities in Russia amid the events in Ukraine.

General Electric will make an exception to “provide essential medical equipment and support existing energy services in the region.” It is noted that earlier the concern temporarily curtailed the provision of support to Russian air carriers using its equipment.
