The Coca-Cola Company suspends all activities in Russia.

Coca-Cola will continue to “monitor and evaluate the situation as circumstances develop,” according to a statement posted on the company’s website.

Its main competitor, PepsiCo, in turn, will suspend sales of Pepsi, 7Up, Mirinda and other drinks in Russia, as well as refuse capital investments and all advertising activities. However, the company will continue to produce essential goods such as dairy products and baby food. The company said in a statement that the solution “will help support 20,000 Russian employees and 40,000 agricultural workers in the supply chain.”

Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones. Foreign companies began to leave Russia one by one.
