Media journalists have listed the main disadvantages of affordable smartphones. According to them, manufacturers produce cheap sub-flagships, depriving the phones of the most important parts. Among the first, the authors named the absence of a telephoto lens, which is compensated by the presence of a wide-angle lens. Another way to save money on the release of a smartphone is the rejection of high-quality materials – metal or glass – in favor of plastic. Also, affordable gadgets do not receive protection from moisture.
Experts noted that smartphone manufacturers often offer a cheap adapter in the kit that does not support fast charging. Or the companies producing phones completely remove the charger from the kit – for example, Apple.
In conclusion, the authors noticed that affordable smartphones sometimes lack support for high display refresh rates – up to 90 or 120 hertz. In addition, manufacturers are not going to support their devices with updates properly, thereby forcing consumers to purchase new phones.
At the end of December, Android Authority journalists described the ideal smartphone of 2022. According to experts, a good device should have long-term support for updates and a high-quality charger in the kit.
