“Ferencvaros” on the road defeated “Ujpest” in the match of the 18th round of the Hungarian Championship. The results are available on the tournament website.
The meeting was held in Budapest at the Ferenc Susa stadium and ended with the score 1:0 in favor of the guests. The only goal in the 78th minute was scored by defender Stipe Loncar. The victory was the first for the team led by Russian coach Stanislav Cherchesov. In the first official match with the Russian, the team lost to Puskas Academy.
Ferencváros remains top of the Hungarian league standings with 38 points from 18 matches. Puskas Academy is in second place with one point less.
The 58-year-old Russian coach took charge of Ferencváros on 20 December. Prior to that, Cherchesov worked as the head coach of the Russian national team. He has led the national team since 2016. The last club in the specialist’s career was the Polish Legia.
