Germany will not provide Ukraine with military assistance in the form of weapons. This information was once again confirmed by the Minister of Defense of the country, Christine Lambrecht, reports “European Truth”.
“Germany has decided not to supply weapons, and we believe that this is the right decision, because we are afraid that this will lead to an escalation of the conflict,” the minister explained and added that Germany wants to contribute in other ways.
According to her, now it is necessary to focus on the peaceful settlement of the conflict. Lambrecht also welcomed the resumption of negotiations in the Normandy format.
Recall that in November-December last year, the world media disseminated data on the concentration of Russian military equipment in the regions bordering Ukraine and on the allegedly impending Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as the sanctions that should follow. The list of restrictions includes the shutdown of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, sanctions against Russian energy companies, and the shutdown of the SWIFT international interbank settlement system.
